Sessions and files
Open a session
@ssh
@ssh prod-web@ssh lists saved hosts with user@host, the authentication, and any jump host. Selecting one opens a new tab named after it. The shell pill in the status strip reads SSH: prod-web, and the terminal header shows SSH · connected.
The terminal is a full xterm: vim, top, tmux, and colours work. Ctrl+Shift+C copies and Ctrl+Shift+V pastes. exit or End session closes it and the tab goes back to the local prompt.
Keepalive and reconnect
A keepalive goes out every 15 seconds. Three missed replies count as a dropped connection. When the network drops, the terminal prints [connection lost, reconnecting in 1s…] and tries again after 1, 2, 4, 8, and 15 seconds. A new login gets a fresh shell (the old one is gone on the server; use tmux to keep work across drops). A changed host key or a refused login stops the retries.
Remote file panel
An SSH tab opens with Remote files beside the terminal. Files in the header shows or hides it.
| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Open a folder | Double-click it, or click a part of the path |
| Up, refresh | ↑ and ⟳ |
| New folder | New folder, type a name, Enter |
| Upload | Upload… (files) or Upload folder…, or drop files from your desktop onto the panel |
| Download | Select a row, then Download to tab folder or Download to…. Double-clicking a file downloads it to the tab folder |
| Drag out | Drag a row onto the Tab folder box at the bottom of the panel to download it into the tab’s local folder |
| Move | Drag a row onto a folder in the list |
| Rename | Select, Rename |
| Delete | Select, Delete, confirm. A folder is deleted with everything in it |
| Copy path | Select, Copy path puts the remote path on the clipboard |
| cd here | Types cd '<folder>' into the remote shell |
Uploads replace a remote file of the same name. Downloads never overwrite: a clash becomes name (1).ext. Each transfer shows a progress bar with bytes done and the file being copied.
Follow shell moves the panel when the remote shell changes folder. It needs the shell to report its folder with OSC 7. Many distributions do this already (for example Fedora’s vte.sh). For bash, add this to the server’s ~/.bashrc:
PROMPT_COMMAND='printf "\033]7;file://%s%s\033\\" "$HOSTNAME" "$PWD"'Without it the panel starts in your home folder and stays where you put it.
The panel uses SFTP on the same connection, so the server needs the sftp subsystem (OpenSSH has it on by default).
Local port forwards
Each line in Local port forwards works like ssh -L:
8080:localhost:80
5432:db.internal:5432While the tab is connected, Termorq listens on 127.0.0.1:8080 and sends each connection through SSH to localhost:80 as seen from the server. The terminal prints [forwarding 127.0.0.1:8080 → localhost:80]. A port that is already taken prints a warning and the rest still start. Forwards follow a reconnect and stop when the tab’s session ends.
